Ojas means the essence of vitality, vigor and immunity in Sanskrit. It is considered the subtle essence of all seven bodily tissues.

Ojas refers to the vital energy or essence that sustains life and health in Ayurvedic and yogic traditions. Ojas is the life-sustaining nectar in the human body. It's not just physical vitality, but is thought to maintain immunity and mental and spiritual resilience.

Each tissue has a specific function and relates to both the physical and energetic functioning of the body. These tissues are believed to nourish each other in a sequential order, and maintaining their balance is vital for health in Ayurveda.
