Carrie Hayes is a licensed massage therapist with nearly two decades of hands-on experience, internationally certified and passionate about blending Eastern and Western healing traditions. Her journey began at the Monterey Institute of Touch, nestled in California’s Carmel Valley, where she was inspired by master instructors steeped in the Esalen Institute’s innovative approaches and gained exposure providing sports massage at renowned events like the Big Sur Marathon and the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Growing up as a competitive swimmer, Carrie was introduced to the importance of therapeutic bodywork early, setting her on a lifelong path of healing through touch.
Specializing in therapeutic, Thai, and sports massage, Carrie sought deeper expertise by training at ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This transformative experience shaped her signature style, merging ancient Thai techniques with modern modalities, including advanced body walking and Southern Thai massage. During her tenure in Los Angeles where she performed thousands of sessions, she is recognized for her work with record-breaking athletes, celebrities, and everyday clients seeking restorative wellness.
Now based in North Carolina, Carrie practices at Palestra Boutique Spa in Charlotte, continually growing her craft through ongoing education. Her philosophy is rooted in compassionate, intentional bodywork—helping others reconnect with relaxation, movement, and balance. Carrie believes massage is both an art and a science, dedicated to promoting true healing and teaching the often-overlooked value of relaxation. She feels deeply grateful for the opportunities this career has brought her to serve and inspire others, and is committed to sharing the gift of touch.
